A Day in the life....Cont'd

I think the key to a successful marriage is having important and heartfelt conversations like Slade and I do. Let tonight's riveting conversations be an example:

Slade decides to take me to get ice cream tonight as a "reward" because I put on a pair of jeans today that were skinnyish jeans before I got prego and they fit!  I called Slade to tell him and he has been congratulating me all day....can you say SMART A?? Yes, I do see the irony in the above statement.

On the way home our convo goes a little something like this:
Slade- "You know what the PERFECT job for me would be? I mean I could make a killing!"
I am thinking he is going to say, Coach Football, ESPN Commentator, Something with he and Cody, shoot even Ice Capades but never in a million years would I have guessed......
"I should own a SEWING store!!" Um, Do what? "Yeah, Linds think about it I mean old ladies LOVE the Sladester. They would come out in droves to hang out with me and sew!" Wow...

Then Not 2 mintues later...
Slade, "Would you take a bullet for Knox?"
Me: "yes"
Me: "Would you?"
Slade: "Of Course!"
Me: "Would you take a bullet for me?"
Slade: "yep"
Slade: "would you take a bullet for me?"
Me: "No"
Slade: "WHAT!?!"
Me: "Well lets think about this, my body is much smaller than yours therefore my vital organs are much closer together, your organs have a lot more room to spread out thus the likelihood being smaller that you would actually die from a gunshot. Plus, you already said you would take a bullet for me so really I shouldn't have to take one for you if you come through on your end of the deal."

If that doesn't say love then I don't know what does :)

A day in the life....

I said, "Who's the stud muffin?" He pointed at himself.."I am Mom!"

Flexing his little muscles....

very upset about tummy time!
(yes I realize his head looks HUGE from this angle, but it's really not!)

sweet boy!

Poo'd and ate Food!

This weekend we had two firsts! Knox had his first food served with a spoon and his first major blowout where mom and dad had to leave the restaurant! It was a great weekend, Cody and Christy came to visit Saturday for a little Knox time and phase 10. We had a great time but the visit ended a little chaotic. We went to lunch before they left and at then endish of the meal, I took Knox to the ladies room to change his diaper. First and LAST time I ever use one of those baby things on the wall! I pull it down and put down some paper towels and stick Knox on. I know he has a poopy diaper so I have to use it and am just trying to get it changed as quickly as possible. I lay him down only to discover that he has put his hand on the side in where SOME OTHER BABY has poo'd!! So I am like AHHHH! I then and only then look down at Knox's diaper....there is poo EVERYWHERE! Up his back, on his bottom and on his clothes. There is no way I can get this changed. So I dart out and tell Slade we have to leave NOW. We try to line the car seat with diapers so it won't get all over everything but when we do that we can't get him strapped in b/c it's too thick, so we just squish it all and stuff Knox in.  When we get home we have it everywhere. It gets on his back and head as we are pulling the clothes off along with the carseat, changing table, socks ect. We just stick him in the bath. Knox of course was not bothered by this at all and was all smiles. Slade and I, however, were exhausted after we got him cleaned off!

Last night I gave Knox his first rice cereal with a spoon. The Dr. said I needed to start using a spoon so he would get used to it but I swear it's like the kid has been doing it all his short little life. He did great! He was much more interested in looking at the camera than eating so he would lean back and just open his mouth.
Here Mom...it goes right in here!

still making sure she knows where it goes....or pondering something?

so not interested in Mom, wants to know what Dad is doing

"Dad, Could you get this spot off my neck?"

Daddy and Knox

I am so getting the hang of this!

"Mom, seriously I am trying to eat here!"

The BOB

Yesterday I decided it was time to take this whole working out thing up a notch and needed to start running again so I bought a BOB Running Stroller. Today was a beautiful day and after Knox's ordeal at the Dr. he was pooped! So I decided to take him running with me...he is already asleep so I figure he can sleep while I run! I use the term "running" loosely because let's be honest after childbirth it's a little harder. Anywho, I head over to Mom and Dad's neighborhood cause I like it better to walk in and decide that I will take little Emma on a walk before I run. So I get out my new stroller which does NOT have the correct attachment for my infant carrier but do I let this deter me..absolutely not! I just set mine in the little frame and use the belt on the stroller to strap the carrier in...genius right? Don't worry I preformed a few abrupt stops to make sure Knox wouldn't go flying out the front and he didn't. In retrospect I am glad this worked cause if not I would have flung my baby halfway across the front yard....yikes. The three of us head out and instantly it's chaos. Emma is walking everywhere checking out the stroller, yard ect. and I am already twisted in leash and trying not to wake up my sleeping baby. Turns out the BOB has a front wheel that is rotating, I am sure this is great for spinning on a dime and such but trying to walk a dog a push a stroller...no dice. At one point I am distracted trying to get my headphones in and notice the stroller is headed for a tree...I chase after it, hurdling Emma's leash and barely miss a collision and then someone calls. Yeah, not the easiest to answer a call, push a stroller that won't stay strait and pull along a pug who is interested in every tree, bush, shrub along the way. I am sure the neighbors were all like what the heck is going on out there. Of course my stroller is bright orange so the chance of someone not seeing this cluster is slim. After I got Emma dropped off it was a little easier, but the lesson for the day was that the BOB doesn't stop when I stop pushing like my other stroller...so I accidentally ran Knox right into a curb. He opened one eye and looked at me like, "woman, what is the deal!?" I know buddy, this Mom thing needs a bit of a learning curve. :)

4 month checkup

We had our 4 month check up today...little late but oh well. Knox is a hearty 16.06 lbs and 25 1/2 inches long. Yes, this does mean that he's a BIG BOY. I swear if one more person asks me if I am feeding to much I am going to deck them! The Doc said he is perfectly healthy and his height/weight ratio is totally right on since he is in the 75% for both. He just takes after his father, which is great cause honestly no one wants a boy my size! Knox was LOVING the paper on the table in the Dr. office. He would kick and it would krinkle and then he would look at Slade and I like, "isn't this the greatest!!" He loved the nurse and was all flirty UNTIL she gave him his shots...it was heartbreaking. He was all smiles then looked at her like, "what the heck!?!" Poor thing, this was the first time I have ever heard him cry really really hard and I think the combo of being 45 min past nap time and then two shots was just the making of a bad morning for the Knoxter.

Here is a little video of the Knoxter in action.....
