I can't believe our little nugget is already 5 weeks old! He is such a good little baby and we fall in love with him even more every day. Here are some random photos of him!

Knox's guard dog

So today I went over to mom and dads and was talking to dad in the driveway. Knox and I were about to go on a walk so he was in the stroller. Well Chico was also outside with us and decided that he was going to assign himself to guard Knox's stroller while dad and I were busy. Dad had some plants delivered and it was so funny every time the man (who I am sure was as nice as can be) would walk by the stroller, Chico would back up and stand next to it. He would also follow this man with his eyes as we were all unloading flats of flowers from the truck to the yard. I finally used my brain and got out my phone and took a few pics because it was just so cute. Chico is probably not going to be with us much longer because he is 15 yrs old so I wanted to document this awesome family dog!

More Photos!

These are the rest of the pics that Rachel took and a few more that she came back to get. I wanted a few outside and wanted a few of the three of us. These are a week and a half after Knox was born. We are so pleased with the results! A little side note: lots of people have commented on my dark hair...actually it was kind of an accident. I went to get my roots done and I was so tired from having a baby ect. that I didn't realize how dark she was getting it. I actually did not even realize it until I saw these pics. It has since been lightened a little. :)

Our first family photo

Should I be concerned that at 1 1/2 weeks he is this thrilled to be in a golf bag??

Steve-O and Sharon came to see me!

Steve-O and Sharon (grandmother name yet to be determined) came this weekend to babysit Knox while Slade and I went to a function. It was so nice to go out and be adults! Knox loved getting to see his grandparents and Linds loved getting to sleep in a little bit! Win-win situation for all.....we can't wait to see them in 10 days for Thanksgiving!

Knox is so excited they are coming!

He already just loves his grandmother!

looks like the feeling is mutual..

proud grandfather!

We can't wait for them to come back!

Knox's first bath!

Bebe was nice enough to come over tonight to help us give Knox his first bath. I am not really sure what it says about my mothering skills that I needed my mother to come show me how to bathe my child! Knox, however, LOVED his bath. For some reason he just loves his hair washed and now being bathed! This really is not that shocking to me since his father takes about 3 showers a day!

now the water has cooled off and he is pretty much over it!

My New "Normal"

It's crazy how different one's life can be in a mere two weeks! Granted, my life was already changing just by being pregnant but it's nothing compared to actually having Knox! I never knew I would spend so much of my day trying to get a teeny tiny person to BURP! Good Lord! Knox has a little reflux issue so the last few days have been a little exhausting. We have gone from regular formula to soy formula to now "sensitive" formula...which thank goodness he seems to be doing better on. With Slade and I as parents it's not real shocking he is having stomach issues! But after a few nights of not wanting to sleep, this little mamma was about to go nuts.

I also now know why mom's never answer their phones. Just about the time you get the baby, the bottle, and burp cloth all in your arms that is when your phone rings. I have been trying to call some people back for a week now .... it's like everytime I sit down to do it, I hear that little whimper that means "I'm awake and I need something!"

It also amazes me how my life now is broken down into 3 hr increments. Literally, since it's from the beginning of one feeding to the beginning of the next and it takes about 30 minutes to feed him...I have no time! If I need to do something and it can't be done in an hour and a half then bottom line.. it's not getting done. Forget running a few errands in a hurry, between loading and unloading the infant carrier and getting him all situated, it takes me 30 minutes to run into Walgreens.

Sadly, I don't think this will be my new "normal" but I now know how the Biggest Loser contestants feel. From the Sat he was born until the next Sat when I stepped on the scale, I had lost 18lbs!!!! It was definitely the best scale moment of my life. Actually it might have been one of the better moments in my life! No, not better than my wedding or having a child but I'm not gonna lie it was up there! So then the next week I only lost 3lbs. Normally I would have been thrilled to lose three lbs in a week but after my previous week it was such a let down. But as Bob says, I can't expect to pull those kind of numbers every week! :)

However, even with all these changes I really don't seem to mind. I never used to understand why parents just seemed to stare at their kids all the time but I do now.  It's crazy how in love you can be with someone who basically eats, sleeps and poops. I can't imagine what i'll feel when he can actually interact with me!

The Nursery

I realize most people get photos of the nursery on their blogs BEFORE the baby comes but since he was a bit early I didn't get the chance. His crib and bedding got in the week before he was born so it was literally the week he arrived that I got his nursery finished. It's a little bare b/c I didn't know what sex the baby would be and wanted to add more when I knew plus we are waiting on Bebe to paint us something for the wall above his crib!

Getting started on the stripes...only took me about a week @ 6 mos preggo!

Finally finished!
