Greetings from Vail!

We made it to Vail! It was a long journey but Brooke and I tackled it head on with lots of movies, diapers, snacks and vodka. Just kidding!... We didn't have snacks. She was "Driving Mrs. Daisy" and I got to be "Mary Poppins" in the back seat half the time with the bambinos. Mainly cause it was mine revolting against his car seat. No lie, I bet I climbed from the front seat to the back seat 10 times... It took us 7.5 hrs and should have taken 6.5.

Hudson and Hayes are here! Lauren, Will and the boys arrived last night so that brings our count up to 5 babies, 6 adults. So we haven't been overtaken yet.

We are having so much fun and Knox doesn't quite know what to make of Hudson... He just stares at him. He finds him very entertaining! He is also a little confused cause Libby is here and he thinks she is Bebe (his grandmother and lib's sister) and can't figure out why he's not the sole recipient of her attention.

Bebe will be here Sat so I am sure he will be thrilled and thorughly confused.

Console of the car.

Ready to hit the town!

We love Park City!!

Knox and I are having sooo much fun in Park City! The weather has been amazing and The Baily's are fabulous hosts! We have had fabulous meals and fellowship. Yesterday, Brooke and I needed blankets to sit on the deck because it was chilly...in August...I LOVE this place! We went to the Park City Art festival and today went on a hike that was absolutely beautiful. We hiked up to a few different  lakes, had a little picnic and then hiked back down...about 2 hrs. It was about 65 degrees so it was perfect hiking weather.

Tonight we are going to see Michael McDonald in concert! It's outside so we are taking a picnic dinner...good times ahead!

Knox however, has had a bit of a rough start.

The plane ride....ohhh the plane ride. I was "that mom." You know, the one at the front of the plane rocking her baby that just wont go to sleep. He was super happy at the beginning and felt it was his duty to entertain the entire plane but after a while it got a little old. He jumped on my thighs for a good hour...let's just say I was not built to support that kind of weight. He FINALLY fell asleep and I swear I thought people might applaud me because I had been trying to hard to get him to give it up. He slept about 30-45 minutes until we started to descend and it must have hurt his ears because he woke up screaming. I shoved a bottle in his mouth and he was better. I couldn't understand why my "perfect baby" was being such a toot. I found out the next morning when he had thrown up everywhere and obviously has a cold due to the fact that his eyes were watering, nose running, and sneezing. Pretty much something was coming out every orifice. Poor kid didn't feel good!

He was doing better until today....
I MIGHT have left him on the bed for just a second and he MIGHT have fallen off. Yes, you read that correctly. I guess he just went for something and turns out he's a little more mobile than I thought he was. I was in the bathroom and heard a THUMP. I looked back to see him on the floor. I can't describe the feeling I had. I have never been so scared in my life. It's a tall bed. I got to him and I think when he saw my face he started crying. I felt AWFUL. I ran into Brooke's room and started crying. She took my baby and checked him out and he was fine, just a little scared. She calmed him down, then me. She is good in a crisis...great person to keep around! She assured me that she along with most mom's have at some point let a child roll off the bed. Knox was fine after a few minutes but I could not pull myself together. I put him down and we left to go on our hike. I had a breakdown right when we got there and then I was fine. Just had a bit of an anxiety attack.  I am not super emotional on the whole but I don't know when it comes to your baby, it's different. I felt like the worst mom in the world and he looked at me like, "MOM! How could you let that happen!!"  Moral of the story...don't leave babies unattended on high furniture.

We made it!

We made it... Second flight was less than ideal... More to come on that but I'm exhausted...
I think this pic really shows the how Knox and I both felt after the flight ...,

Half way there..

First plane ride was ok... He was quite the wiggle worm, thank goodness there was no one beside me. He wanted to stand (on me) and look out the window the whole time. That was fine until he would drop his hands then bonk his head on the window...
So far so good, he has yet to sleep all morning so I am praying he will crash on the next flight.

Lookin out the window..

We at the airport and it only took us 15 minutes to go through security... They had to test every bottle of formula and water.. Like with strips to make sure they weren't toxic I guess. Awesome. Knox would yell everytime they picked up a bottle cause he wanted it... We are about to board...

Saying bye to dad

Lets do this!

And we're off...almost!

Knox and I are headed out tomorrow on our Mountain Adventure 2010 in search of cool weather and good times. Not that this 105 in the Falls hasn't been uber pleasant, but we need a little wind chill in our lives. We leave from the Falls tomorrow morning and are headed to DFW then on to Park City, Utah where we are going to spend a few days with Brooke, Molly and Baily! Brooke's Dad and his wife Tricia have graciously allowed us to come up and stay with them. As I (or Knox) have never been to Park City, we are very excited. Also excited to see Brooke, Molly and Baily since we have missed them! After a few days we are  driving down to our house in Vail. Three babies and two mommies...should be a super fun 6 hrs. We will be in Vail for a few days then all of the Moms and babies in the family, plus Mom, Libby Bets and Nonnie will be there for the remainder of the time. 8 women, 7 babies.... it's gonna be crazy!

But first we gotta get there....
As Knox has never flown I have no idea what to expect, so I am a little nervous. I have so much STUFF traveling with a wee one. I know I will look like a pack mule and I'm fine with that. I want to be pretty organized, so I have devised a system of gallon zip-locks that would make even extremely OCD people proud! I got a baggie for everything...Toys, diapers, snacks, my stuff...you name it, it's got a baggie. My "carry-on" only weighs as much as my baby so it should be awesome toting those two around all day! I have decided Knox is either gonna be "that adorable baby on the plane" or "that *&!* kid that wouldn't shut up!" Let's hope it's not the latter........

I'll try to update as to let you know how this all goes. We will be back around the 18th...we are really going to miss Daddy, but excited for our adventure!

You're killin me Smalls....

It's me Knox and by smalls, I mean my mother. I love her, but she is about to do me in today!! I woke up late this morning..around 9:15.. because I was tired. Mom WOKE me up when she came in my room cause she needed to make sure I will still alive cause I never sleep that late. Yes, Mother, I am alive..just needed a few extra z's, sheesh!

I got over it, cause that's just who I am. This afternoon Mom took me to this new magical place that has way better people watching than restaurants or the pool....the Mall! Yep, I made my first trek to Sikes Center today and let me tell ya..not impressed. But Mom wanted to get me out of the house and since it's 150 degrees outside, the mall was our best bet.

Let me back up a bit. We headed out in the Wagon...the Wagon, you say? Yes, since someone got their bumper torn off (cough, mom!) Mom is driving Nonnie's white wagon for a while....see below

Don't get me wrong, we are so grateful Non let us use it and we are not stuck at home but I just think it's funny Mom is driving a station wagon...and to make it even better, no tint. So I have to squint half the time. To fix this Mom put a blanket in the window...I told her she should have just foiled it then we could have been a little more WT! We get to the mall and Mom busts out Brooke's umbrella stroller. Since it's gonna be my new wheels for the next few weeks on vacation, she thought I needed to try it out. So she gets it all set up and then sticks me in it. Well, genius didn't lock it in position so as soon as I get in, it starts to EAT ME ALIVE! Mom is facing the car so she doesn't notice that I am being swallowed by the stroller. I felt like I was in a venus fly trap! So what does Mom do when she turns around? She starts laughing...real cool Linds, then pops it up with her foot and praise the Lord I am free! Since I am always cool under pressure I didn't cry but I was NOT happy.

We head into the mall and I bang around on the stroller a bit to make sure it's sturdy and isn't gonna try to eat me again. When I am convinced it's not, I lay back and relax. I was amazed at what was before my very eyes. ALL kinds of people! Some types I have never seen before so I would REALLY stare at them.

We went in to the shoe store because Mom says I need some shoes since we are going on vacation where it's cooler and my feet might be cold. Honestly woman, I don't even walk yet! Why do I need shoes? But Mom's the boss so to get shoes I went. At first I was totally against this. She would try to put a shoe on my foot and I would flex my food as hard as I could and curl my toes so she couldn't get it on. Teach her to try and buy me shoes....but then I saw them. They were glorious. RED Converse. I LOVE red and I love Converse so it was a match made in heaven. I had no problem letting Mom put those on these tootsies. Then I saw some baby New Balance that I just had to have. They were velcro (check) and extra wide (check, check)! Now I am all set! Check out my sweet new kicks!

I am SOOOO excited bout my new shoes!
